A Soccer Ball for Ellie

Ellie knew exactly what she wanted for her birthday-a soccer themed chocolate birthday cake.
She jumped up and down when she saw it....which made me feel good.
Next week, I get to make soccer ball cupcakes for her class at school.
Stay tuned....

For some reason, I love the Wilton grass tip.

A Cake Fit for a Princess

A BFF I've known for over 20 yrs (am I dating myself?) asked if I could make a cake for her god-daughter's 3rd birthday.  We had a few conversations about what little Nayeli likes, colors, etc.  Here is what I came up with.  The last picture is amazing.....you'll see why.

The topper is a cookie on a stick-the client's idea!
I made 3 dozen more for the party guests.

Top view of the cake.

Cookies placed around the cake.  Doesnt it look like this was all planned?!

Would you look at that adorable face?  The table, flowers,
cake and her dress all match so wonderfully!

It's Movie Time

My husband was recently in China and brought home a boat-load of movies for the kids.  My daughter (and several of her friends) decided we should have a movie day.  And of course, hosting a party for a group of tweens means there must be treats! One of my favorite food blogs is ww.bakeat350.blogspot.com.  I borrowed the popcorn cookie idea from Bridget's site. One of the guests literally gave me a hug and told me how much she liked the cookies!  It brought a tear to my eye....  :)

These cookies were so easy and fun to make.

OK, dont eat the cookie yet!  Hold it up and smile everyone!

A Fashionable Treat

A dear friend of mine recently celebrated her 29th birthday...again...
She works in the fashion industry and I decided to make her these
"outfits" for the occasion.  She had fun mixing and matching the bags
to the dresses.
Every woman needs a LBD and some pearls, right?

Love chain handle bags.

All wrapped up and ready for gifting.

It's a Power Poms Birthday

My challenge this week was to create a cookie that looked like a pom pon.  I did some research online and really didnt see anything I liked.  I was going for texture.  A few layers of frosting and some sanding sugar did the trick...along with putting the cookie on a stick. (We in WI love our food on a stick for some reason)  Again, I had a group of pretty young ladies to model the treats!

Happy 80th Birthday!

A dear friend of mine from high school sent me a message on Facebook.
She wrote, "Can you come up with something creative for my Mom's 80th???"
My friend lives in California and the whole family came to Wisconsin to celebrate.
Eve, the birthday girl, has eight grandchildren.  A recent family photo was the foundation for her cake.  My goal was to ensure each grandchild could find their face in fondant.
My friend could name them all.  Whew...
Two dozen cupcakes were also personalized for the family to enjoy.
Can you believe I forgot to take a close up picture of the cupcakes?
This cake was so fun to make!
Happy Birthday Eve!  Best Wishes and I hope you enjoyed your cake.

A Beach Theme Birthday Party

Happy Birthday to a beautiful young lady!  I've known her and her family since she was a youngin' in Kindergarten. My, how time flies. These tube-floating little rascals were just the thing she needed to sweeten up her birthday party.

5...4...3...2...1...BLAST OFF!

My daughter is in a band.  Yes, a band. 73rd Street is the name of the band.....and they rock.  Really, they do.  Their latest gig was at GS Design's 25th anniversary party.  A fellow band member's father works with this amazing company.
In honor of being in business 25 years, they held a 25 hour long p-a-r-t-a-y.  I asked if they needed  sweets to help keep everyone awake and they ordered 240 orange and silver rocket ship cookies.
It was a blast (pun intended) making them and to have the opportunity to provide cookies for a really fun, friendly, hard-working group of people.

All wrapped up and ready to go.

This is what 240 rocket ship cookies look like.

This rocket ship is hanging from the ceiling of the lobby at
GS Design.  Now you know why they wanted rocket cookies!
